MIFFest 2025 Unveils Strongest Ambassador Line-Up: Bront Palarae, Siti Saleha, Daiyan Trisha, & Expanded International Partnerships
The Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) is gearing up for its 8th edition from July 19 to 27, 2025, promising an unforgettable experience. This year’s festival will open at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, marking a vibrant return to its signature annual in-person celebrations and reaffirming MIFFest’s role as a leading platform for cinema and cultural exchange in the region.

Star-studded ambassadors

Leading the charge is the iconic Bront Palarae, returning for his sixth year, alongside powerhouse actresses Siti Saleha and Daiyan Trisha. Their combined star power and storytelling prowess will shine brightly at the festival.

Theme: INFINITY

This year's theme, INFINITY, celebrates the timeless magic of cinema—its ability to connect, heal, and inspire. The theme is brought to life through a striking campaign by renowned Hong Kong artist Wing Shya, known for his work with Wong Kar Wai.
As stated by MIFFest, "More than ever, a film festival becomes an endless space where stories flow, where courage, hope, and humanity converge through the shared experience of cinema. INFINITY speaks to the limitless power of storytelling to bridge distances, ignite compassion, and with equal poignancy and quiet strength."

ASEAN On Screen

In conjunction with Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship, MIFFest and FINAS are launching ASEAN On Screen, spotlighting Southeast Asian film and TV. This initiative focuses on collaboration, co-productions, and championing impactful stories.

Partnerships & collaborations

MIFFest has secured a transformative three-year partnership with Hong Leong Bank as its Official Bank Partner, paving the way for more local stories, creative support, and growth in Malaysia's film industry.
Meanwhile, in celebration with its 25th anniversary, the European Film Festival (EUFF) is teaming up with MIFFest for an ambitious showcase from July 20 to 27, featuring European cinematic gems and cultural crossovers.

Additionally, MIFFest continues to expand its international reach, renewing ties with India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the High Commission of India in Malaysia. The festival also strengthens its vibrant Hong Kong connection, supported by HKETO and the Hong Kong Film Development Council.
