Pereka kasut dan beg terkenal Christy Ng menerima kecaman wargamaya apabila tampil tidak bersetuju dengan usaha kerajaan untuk menaikkan tempoh cuti bersalin kepada 90 hari.
Menerusi laman sosial Twitter, kicauan yang bermula daripada sebuah wawancara Bajet 2020 menerusi Astro Awani itu membincangkan isu cuti bersalin yang akan naik pada tahun 2021. Hasil daripada wawancara tersebut, Ng menegaskan cuti selama 90 hari untuk ibu yang baru bersalin adalah terlalu lama dan boleh menyebabkan masalah kepada majikan.
Memetik laporan itu juga, dia turut merasakan pekerja wanita yang mengambil cuti terlalu lama boleh menyebabkan masalah kepada majikan yang meletakkan pekerja berkenaan di kedudukan yang tinggi.
“Bulan ketiga sepatutnya ditukar menjadi waktu kerja fleksibel yang dipersetujui supaya majikan tidak menghadapi kesukaran untuk mendapatkan tenaga kerja gantian semasa seseorang mengambil cuti bersalin, selain rakan pejabat tidak rasa terbeban,” tambahnya kepada Astro Awani.
Hasil tinjauan Gempak di laman Twitter, rata-rata netizen tidak bersetuju dengan pendapat Ng dan berasa kecewa kerana isu itu bangkit daripada mulut seorang wanita.
