The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will be continued till 9 June 2020, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced on Sunday (10 May).
He said that despite many positive strides in the fight against COVID-19, we are still not free from the threat of the virus.
As such, the government, on the advice of Health Ministry and National Security Council, has decided to extend CMCO for four more weeks.
Movement between states are still forbidden. People are not allowed to return to their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya, Hari Gawai and Pesta Kaamatan.
"This doesn't mean you can't celebrate Hari Raya, Pesta Kaamatan or Hari Gawai. You can still visit closest neighbours and family living within the state," he said, adding that this was only allowed if the crowd is smaller than 20 people at a time.

The Prime Minister said that the country has managed to make almost all the districts in Malaysia into green zones. Out of 1338 mukim, 1112 or 94.4 per cent have been categorised as green, only four are still categorised as red zones i.e with more than 40 COVID-19 positive cases.
"To those living in these areas, I advise you to be more careful. To others, my advise is to not to visit these places for now," Muhyiddin said.
He also advised those living in green zones not think that they're safe and move about here and there.
"I'd like to remind that COVID-19 is a quiet enemy that can attack anytime.
"Social distancing, wearing of masks and other measures should be continued until a vaccine is found," he said, adding that he hopes a vaccine would be found soon.
