Good news Malaysia!

We will be receiving the first batch of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccines this Sunday (21 February).

Vaccines comin' our way!

Yeay!

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced this today and said that once the vaccines were in the country, the national vaccination program should begin by 26 February.

PM will be the first to be inoculated

According to a report by The Star, the prime minister said that he would be the first to receive the vaccine in order to "boost public confidence over its safety".

Once herd immunity is achieved, Malaysia should be a fairly safer for everyone.

Vaccines to protect us all.

"The economic sectors will be able to open, such as tourism. We can visit one another and get back to sports, although with a new normal.

"This is what I mean when I say that the vaccine is our main ray of hope in ensuring victory in the war against COVID-19," he said.

The vaccination exercise is going to be far from simple though.

You will need to register, there's a schedule and certain groups will be given the vaccine first.

We've still got a long way to go people so in the meantime, everyone just needs to keep following the SOP and ensure that COVID-19 numbers are as low as possible.
