Remember the full lockdown that we all experienced last March?
The country may heading for a full lockdown again.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, the government will discuss the possibility of a full Movement Control Order (MCO) a.k.a lockdown during the COVID-19 National Security Council (NSC) Meeting in Putrajaya tomorrow (21 May).
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Law), Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the meeting was expected to be attended by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, state leaders and other officials.
“That is one of the measures that the authorities need to think about, especially the NSC because that is the only option available.
"So far, we have implemented the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and so on either as a whole or targeted," he said.
Is a full lockdown what Malaysia needs?
A full lockdown may very much be a possibility, especially since COVID-19 numbers have been peaking these past few days.
Today (20 May), a total of 6,806 new COVID-19 cases were reported.
Yesterday, we had 6,075 cases. 46 people died.
Health officials have also stated that Intensive Care Units (ICU) around the country are reaching full capacity and new clusters are emerging all over the place.

Basically the situation is bad.
This has not been the first time a full lockdown has been discussed though.
Previous talks saw major objections especially from SMEs and the lower income groups who say that they will not be able to survive another total lockdown.
With so many factors to consider, we hope the authorities put their heads together and make the best decision for the country.
In the meantime, we have to do our part and keep following the SOPs, stay at home whenever we can and keep ourselves and our families safe.
