A Malaysian mother recently took to social media to vent her frustration about a teacher who allegedly punished her 11-year-old child and another classmate in an excessive manner.

According to her post on Threads, the mother said it all began when a classmate slapped her daughter on the head while she was doing homework. At the time, the teacher was in class but was playing with their phone.

The mother said her daughter angrily asked the classmate why they had hit her. The commotion caught the teacher's attention, who walked over, but instead of resolving the situation calmly, it escalated into something more.

“My child claimed the teacher had punched her head and the classmate's head. As if that's not enough, the teacher had also twisted their ears and forcibly knocked their heads together,” she wrote.

The incident caused her daughter to cry on the spot, while the other student was so terrified that they wet themselves in class.

“Of course as a mother, I was angry but my child stopped me from calling the teacher. She was afraid the teacher would target her once the incident was known by others.”

The mother then added that her daughter felt pain in her head but had to continue preparing for her upcoming UPKK mock exam despite the incident.

The post has since garnered much attention from other social media users. While some condemned the teacher's punishment, others advised the mother to listen to both sides of the story.

“If you're unsatisfied, I suggest you ask directly to the teacher or bring the issue up to the school. I'm not saying your daughter is wrong but I feel it's fair if you hear both sides of the story.”

“1. Go and see the headmaster. 2. See the teacher for an explanation. 3. If it's proven true that something had happened, report the incident to the police and file for an official complaint about the teacher and keep all the evidences, including the injuries if your child had one,” said a user.
