4 Afternoon Tea Spots in Kuala Lumpur To Try This Weekend
The pre-historic Queen Elizabeth celebrated the 70th anniversary of her accenssion at the Platinum Jubilee event recently it got us in the mood for all things English. If you're looking for a spot of tea this weekend (coming weekends in June) this list is for you.
1. Hyde Park at Lounge on the Park, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur
The afternoon tea is supposed to be a direct recreation of the same afternoon tea served in Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London. Not only do you get to enjoy delectable delights with a view of the KLCC park, but each set comes with a miniature chocolate bear named Abbey! The cute name and shape of the chocolate shouldn't deter you from digging in tho because Abbey is delicious.

2. Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur
Some places tend to overdo it with their high-tea sets and include a mix of items that are not quite palatable. Sometimes it is best to go back to the basics and keep it classic like The Lounge at Four Seasons does, with a posh yet tasteful ambiance to boot. It has a good balance of savoury and sweet delights which are well worth a try especially their buttery scones with a choice of classic or blueberry, served with a generous helping of cream and butter on the side.

3. Barbie Pink Afternoon Tea at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

4. Lady Yi’s Tea House at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur
You will be hard pressed to find a similar afternoon tea experience quite like this; Lady Yi’s Tea House offers visitors a sample of Peranakan favourites served up in Nyonya ceramics.
The venue itself is eye-catching with a multicoloured canvas painting featuring phoenixes and bright red chairs and customised Peranakan-themed cushions placed throughout the dining area. The ‘Peranakan Affair Afternoon Tea’ offers visitors a taste of nostalgia with delicacies that have been given the executive chef treatment including otak-otak sandwiches and onde-onde which uses fragrant gula Melaka.
