Have you noticed hazy conditions lately?

It looks like it may be that time of year again you guys!

A quick check with the Air Pollutant Index Malaysia website (APIMS) showesd that seven stations have recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) levels.

The areas, as of 5pm, 2 March, are Cheras (111), Petaling Jaya (133), Shah Alam (104), Johan Setia Klang (188), Klang (107), Banting (167) and Rompin in Pahang (114).

APIMS also indicated that 30 stations recorded moderate API levels while only 8 stations recorded good API levels in the country.

'Good' API levels are from 0-50, 'moderate' is from 51-100 and 'unhealthy' is from 101 to 200.

'Very unhealthy' levels are from 201 to 300 and 'hazardous' is anything above 301.

Talk of heat, haze among netizens

Tweets and comments on hazy conditions were also abuzz online.

Many lamented that the haze is just an added issue to deal with especially with the recent hot weather and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
