BEHIND THE WHEEL
Fast & Furious 9 Unable To Outrun Coronavirus, Will Be Postponed To 2021
Another addition to the list of blockbuster movies being postponed is the tenth movie in the Fast & Furious franchise. Initially set for a 22 May 2020 debut, Fast & Furious 9 will now be pushed back to April 2021 in lieu of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Universal Studios made the announcement that despite the large turbos and bottles of NOS, the movie was unable to outrun the coronavirus pandemic. As such, the regular laws of physics will resume once again before the franchise continues to torment Isaac Newton by defying gravity in April 2021. More heartbreaking however will be the wait to find out how Han escaped death in the Tokyo Drift movie.
“We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga. That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film. It’s become clear that it won’t be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May. While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration,” explained franchise star Vin Diesel on social media, according to Variety.
