If you’ve got a police summons; or a few, you can pay them off online with a 50 per cent discount starting tomorrow until July 18 2021.

The welcomed announcement was made by Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Azisman Alias. He did however go on to clarify the exceptions to the discount and they include summonses under trial, for major offences committed this year, those involving heavy vehicles and for exhaust modifications.

Sorry guys, but if your summons is for one of those infractions, you’ll probably have to fork out the full amount according to the piece by Malay Mail.

The discount is only valid for payments done online via the MyBayar Saman portal and application.

“The discount offer is an effort to support the government’s aspiration to provide cashless payment services during the Covid-19 pandemic. Throughout the campaign period, all service counters at the police contingent and district headquarters will be closed to curb the spread of the coronavirus during the implementation of the movement control order (MCO) 3.0,” explained Azisman.

He added that the police will be working on making improvements to the MyBayar Saman app to allow companies and business entities to register as users and settle summons under the business’s name.

If you’d like to pay off your outstanding summons with the discount, you can start doing so tomorrow by downloading the MyBayar Saman app from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store or Huawei Gallery.
