The MINI Countryman Blackheath Edition Is Available Only In One Colour

The press release states that the colour of the Mini Countryman Blackheath Edition that is “reminiscent of the stunningly dark scrubland of Blackheath, South East London in the United Kingdom”. Unless that part of the world bears significance in your life, you’re more likely to get this Mini because of its colour — black.

In the current line up, the only way to get a black Countryman is to throw money for the Mini Countryman John Cooper Works' Midnight Black. Thanks to the Blackheath Edition, you can also have the same for a ‘less hardcore’ Mini.

Of course, just splashing black paint on the body will not do. Mini adds more darkness to the Blackheath Edition. You’ll find Piano Black trim on the headlights, taillights, front grille, door handles, front and rear emblems and the Countryman Tailgate badge. The only bits that are not black, apart from the red S, is the matte tone Brushed Aluminium bonnet stripes.

It’s not just the colour that this Mini Countryman took from the JCW. Coming from the same parts bin are the new-design LED fog lights and aerodynamic mirror caps, 19-inch JCW Circuit Spoke wheels with run-flats and JCW Aerodynamic kit.

The John Cooper Works bits do not find their way inside. The interior is no less black. Leather Cross Punch in Carbon black upholsters the sport seats, and the Mini Yours Illuminated Interior trim comes in Piano Black.

Sounds get reproduced by 12 Harmon Kardon speakers with DSP Amps and Class-D technology with 360-watt output. An 8.8-inch touchscreen lets you engage the features, including navigation. This Countryman comes with Mini Connected with built-in 4G SIM technology. Through the Mini Connected App, this car allows the driver to be linked to Concierge Service, Apple CarPlay, MINI Online and MINI Remote Service.

The Blackheath Edition receives the Cooper S engine tune, which produces 192hp and 280Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre turbo engine gets the seven-speed dual clutch transmission as a partner. Together they drive the Mini from zero to 100kph in 7.5 seconds, and up to a top speed of 225kph.
