After a little teaser of the new flagship trim to spearhead the refreshed Nissan Navara, the entire range of the original ‘self-proclaimed” mother trucker has been launched here. There’ll be six variants that’s probably got something for everyone.

Don’t be fooled by the extensive plastic surgery on the face, this Navara is still very much the same generation as the outgoing model; codenamed D23, and imported from Thailand.

Pricing for the six trims are as follows and inclusive of a five-year/150,000km warranty:
- Navara 2.5-litre Single Cab MT – RM91,900
- Navara 2.5-litre SE MT – RM110,900
- Navara 2.5-litre SE AT – RM116,900
- Navara 2.5-litre V AT – RM125,500
- Navara 2.5-litre VL AT – RM137,900
- Navara Pro-4X AT – RM142,200

If you’ve caught a glimpse of the North American Nissan Titan, this new face will be quite familiar. There’s the in-your-face “interlocking” grille comprised of three distinct meshed bars. Reshaped headlights and coloured covers in the lower apron to mark the tow-hooks are some of the new touches.

Flip it around and you’ll find a rear bumper with an integrated step for easier access into the bed.

Although you’ll find the same engine throughout the range, there are two tunes to further distinguish the variants. Seeing that the two lowest trims get the six-speed manual, it’s unsurprising that they’re paired with the lower output mill carried over from the outgoing Navara.

The YD25 2.5-litre inline-four turbodiesel makes 165hp and 403Nm of torque in the Navara Single Cab and Navara 2.5-litre SE MT. Both get a selectable four-wheel drive system.

As for every other variant, expect the same seven-speed automatic with the high-output tune that’s good for 193hp and 450Nm of torque. Of course, the very same selectable four-wheel drive system is present.

If you’re going to take your Navara Single Cab off the beaten path, you’ll want to splurge on the Under Protector (RM3,000) package for the oil sump guard, fuel tank guard and side steps.

If you’re wondering why the flagship isn’t pictured with a sport bar in the rear, that’ll sadly cost you extra. It’s a pity that Edaran Tan Chong Motor opted to not make this standard. To get the bar, you’ll be forced to select the optional Protection package (RM10,950) for the bar as well as oil sump and fuel tank guards, a stainless steel kick plate, door visors, a DVR and V-Kool security tinting film.
