The Jaguar F-Pace has just got a bump in power. While the 3.0-litre V6 remains the same, it is the 2.0-litre petrol engine that has 50 more horses added to its stable. This new engine, which Jaguar said is their most potent 2.0-litre in production, generates 296hp at 5,500rpm and 400Nm at 1,500-4,500rpm.

Paired with the engine is an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission that lets the F-Pace accomplish the 0-100kph sprint in 6.1 seconds. Jaguar’s SUV will hit speeds of 233kph when fitted with 22-inch wheels.

The Jaguar’s newfound acceleration prowess comes from the twin-scroll turbocharger that feeds off an integrated exhaust manifold that beats in tune from two separate pairs of cylinders. This reduces turbo lag and improves engine response. The F-Pace is fitted with a pendulum damper in the torque converter. This high-tech piece of machinery is said to absorb low-frequency vibrations, which preserves refinement at low speeds.

As good as it sounds, there will be only 20 F-Pace SUVs that will be fitted with this more powerful engine, making this a Limited Edition. Apart from the engine, the Limited Edition F-Pace is equipped with Gesture tailgate, 10-inch Touch Pro, Pro Services and Wi-Fi Hotspot, Lane Keep Assist and Driver Condition Monitor. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also installed in these F-Paces.

You can have this Limited Edition package(?) with any of the three variants — Prestige, R-Sport (Mid) and R-Sport (High). The SUVs are priced at RM436,420.82, RM470,212.97 and RM485,433.81 respectively. Prices exclude road tax and insurance but includes the 50% sales tax waiver.
