Behind the Wheel
The Subaru Forester GT Edition Actually Looks Better Than The Rest Of The Lineup
The Subaru Forester is one of the best SUV to drive. It’s the all-wheel drive system, combined with the low centre of gravity from the Boxer engine, offers stability and grip when negotiating corners. In a classic case of ‘it is what’s inside that counts’, the Forester isn’t the fairest among the SUVs.
How one sees the Forester might change, thanks to engineering company Giken Co. Ltd and Mr Masahiko Kobayashi. The former Chief Designer (Head of Global Advanced Design Studio) at Subaru, “Jack” Kobayashi has penned more than 12 Subaru production models, including the Levorg sports tourer, the first-gem XV and the legendary WRX STI.
Dubbed the Subaru Forester GT Edition, the aero kit is specially designed for Motor Image. The aero kit consists of a new front and rear bumper lip extension, side skirts, and roof spoiler. If anything, the Forester now looks physically tougher. That aside, a new-design 18-inch bespoke allow wheels complete the Forester’s exterior makeover.
Inside, the Forester GT Edition get upgraded to a new eight-inch display audio system that’s ready to link up with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Superview Around Recognition 360 System, a 360-degree monitor system, makes its debut here.
The Forester GT Edition is fitted with the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. Together with the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Boxer engine and Subaru Global platform, this Forester is armed with more than 100 safety features.
Priced at RM177,788, the Subaru Forester 2.0i-S EyeSight GT Edition comes in seven different colours to help it look better. Nevertheless, the Forester should be at the top of anyone’s list who wants an SUV handles the off-road as well as the tarmac.
