Volkswagen Recommends You Blast Some Walnuts Into Your Engine To Clean It Up
You know how you often come across some purported miracle products online that’ll clean your engine’s internals and give it a clean bill of health? Almost all sound too good to be true, especially those with names that’re clearly trying too hard.
Well, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has just introduced one such service and if taken at face value, we wouldn’t blame you for brushing it off as a joke. The Walnut Blasting Decarboniser is a new aftersales service available at all their authorised dealerships.
Bear with us here because we had a chuckle too upon receiving the release and we’ll put it here verbatim:
“The Volkswagen Walnut Blasting Decarbonizer uses walnut shells to gently remove carbon build-up in the engine for a cleaner and smoother drive. Recognized and approved by Volkswagen AG, this method is economical, efficient and non-corrosive, without the use of harmful chemicals.”
All petrol engine vehicles will produce carbon deposits as a by-product of the combustion process that coat the internals and result in sluggish performance. Over the years, this causes a build-up of black soot that hardens around the intake valves. It’ll lead to restrictions in the engine, power loss and increased fuel consumption.
It’s part of the Volkswagen Cares initiative and is recommended as a preventive measure every 45,000km with prices starting as low as RM515.
VPCM has other ongoing aftersales promotions as well such as below:
Shock Absorbers
Tyres
Battery
