’18 Puasa Di Kampong Pisang’ Rakes In RM3 Million, Making It The Top Film Of 2021

Local director and screenwriter Mamat Khalid is on a roll!

His latest movie, '18 Puasa Di Kampong Pisang' has raked in RM3 million in just 10 days of it premiering on Astro First.

The new record also meant that the film is now the top box office film of 2021 in Malaysia.

Fans’ unwavering support for the film is a strong indicator of confidence in local films, which hopefully will continue in the future.

“Alhamdulillah, even though ‘18 Puasa Di Kampong Pisang’ had to premiere in the new norm era, thanks to the positive feedback from the audience, we managed to hit RM3 million in just 10 days,” Mamat said in a statement.

'18 Puasa Di Kampong Pisang' is actually a mash up of two popular Mamat Khalid productions namely 'Kampong Pisang' along with '16 Puasa' and '17 Puasa'.

The latest movie revolves around the villagers of Kampong Pisang who do not observe religious norms during Ramadan and how the consequences of their actions.
