If you’re a fan of Japanese anime and films, you’ll know that the classic Japanese manga Parasyte has already been adapted in various versions in its native country. This Korean adaptation is helmed by Train to Busan director Yeon Sang Ho and is not for the faint-hearted.
This story packed with action, philosophy, and a dash of existential dread is about a young woman caught between her humanity and parasitic influence. As a mutant that’s half-parasite and half-human, Su-in is no longer fully human, nor does she fully belong to the parasites seeking to take over human society. With The Grey, a team dedicated to eradicating parasitic organisms hot on her heels, watch to find out whose side she’s on.

Lovely Runner (April 8 - tvN)

Everyone fell in love with Byeon Woo Seok after he stole the limelight from the lead as the pitiable villain in ‘Strong Girl Nam Soon’. Thankfully, we haven’t had to wait long for his small screen return, this time as a musician Ryu Seon Jae. Im Sol (Kim Hye Yoon) is devastated when her favourite musician dies, but she is mysteriously transported 15 years to the past, allowing her to meet Seon Jae in high school, and change the trajectory of his career.

Dystopian shows seem to be all the rage nowadays and in the near future, a biotechnology company creates a groundbreaking artificially cultured form of meat, BF (blood-free) which dominates the market. This high-budget show (US$20.98 million or approximately RM99.77 million) revolves around a bodyguard recruited to protect the CEO who is also a survivor of the attack that changed their life. Starring Ju Ji Hoon, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Hee Joon, and Lee Moo Saeng.

Missing Crown Prince (April 13 - MBN)

If you don’t fancy modern dramas and prefer sageuks, gear up for this 20-episode drama originally slated for March 9. The romantic comedy is about Crown Prince Lee Geon (EXO’s Suho) who is kidnapped by a woman and throws all of Joseon into a frenzy. Choi Myung Yoon (Hong Ye Ji) and the Crown Prince flee for their lives and along the way find that an unexpected romance begins to blossom between them. Could the woman who was daring enough to kidnap a prince be the one who is actually fated to become his wife?
The drama is a spin-off of “Bossam: Steal the Fate,” which set a new record for the highest viewership ratings in MBN history.

Lee Je Hoon never disappoints in his drama and this time he returns with a prequel to the series ‘Chief Inspector’ which aired from 1971-1989. The retro crime investigation drama includes romance and the charms of analogue investigation, back before there were common CCTVs.
It will follow the story of Park Young Han, a passionate detective who boasts the highest arrest rate when it comes to petty thieves, as he teams up with three charismatic colleagues (including Lee Dong Hwi) to break the norms of corruption.

Goodbye Earth (April 26 - Netflix)

If you’ve heard this name before, it’s because it was supposed to be released in 2023 but got shelved temporarily due to Yoo Ah In’s drug case. Jin Se-Kyung (Ahn Eun-Jin) works as a middle-school teacher in Woongchun City and quits her job to save children in danger. Her boyfriend is a researcher at a biotechnology research institute in the US and flies back to the country to spend his remaining days with his lover.
This pre-apocalyptic drama revolves around four individuals who are living out their final 200 days on Earth before an asteroid is scheduled to collide.
