It’s been awhile since we last heard from Johnny Depp, ever since the abuse allegations surrounding him and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, made headlines.

Well, hopefully 2020 will be a better year for Depp (and fans) because there’s a huge possibility that he’ll be reprising a movie role beloved to him and many – Jack Sparrow.

Still under wraps

According to We Got This Covered, Disney is potentially bringing back the OG Jack Sparrow following recent developments in Depp’s divorce case.

The Mouse House is apparently churning a new script for the sixth installment of the ever-popular ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise.

The one and only.
Not much is known about the upcoming film except that a female lead will be leading the charge this time around, so if Depp does eventually return, Sparrow will play a supporting role in it.

The ‘Alice in Wonderland’ star was previously fired from Disney in 2018 due to the bad press that surrounded him and his controversial divorce, and the low box office numbers 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' had certainly did not help.

Fans have been signing petitions to bring Depp back to the beloved franchise and let’s be real, no one could ever replace him as Jack Sparrow.

Remember them?
So, will the Black Pearl set sail again into uncharted territory with the one and only Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow?

Well, only time will tell.
