It has barely been a week since fans grieved over the Pitt-Jolie split, now another Hollywood couple has decided to part ways. Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts announced that they are calling it quits after 11 years together.

In a joint statement, the couple said that “The best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship”.

Schreiber and Watts, who never married, have two children together: Alexander “Sasha”, aged nine; and Samuel, aged seven.

Earlier this month, the high-profile couple was seen promoting their upcoming movie, The Bleeder, together at the Venice Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.

However, just last week, eyebrows were raised about the relationship when Schreiber took their eldest son as his plus one to the Emmys instead of Watts.

The couple has since urged the public to respect their family’s privacy during this time.

"While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy,” they said.

Sigh. Does happily-ever-after have no place at all in Tinseltown?
