On 4 March, Blinks flooded Stadium Bukit Jalil for BLACKPINK’s Born Pink World Tour. The sold-out concert proved the K-pop quartet’s consistent power as a group, and they have also paved their own successful solo careers.

In the fashion industry, Jisoo is well-known for being the global ambassador for Dior and Cartier. She has also made her mark in the acting field as the leading actress in the K-drama Snowdrop alongside Jung Hae-in.

With members Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa all having made their own solo chart-topping music debuts, Blinks have been eagerly waiting for Jisoo to drop her own solo music work. Jennie dropped SOLO back in 2018 while Rosé’s R and Lisa’s Lalisa was released in 2021.

Jisoo has now excitingly posted a teaser on her Instagram page with the caption “See you soon”. The mysterious teaser included a piece of bright red piece of cloth in the middle of a green field with the words ‘Coming Soon’ also in red and the date 31 March 2023. The teaser was also shared on BLACKPINK’s official Instagram account.

At the beginning of 2023, reports surfaced that the 28-year-old beauty was finally working on her solo debut before YG Entertainment confirmed late last month that she would do so in 2023.

The agency stated, ““BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is currently working hard on recording her solo album. While carrying out a busy world tour schedule since last year, she finished the album jacket photo shoot and worked on music production whenever she got the time in order to keep the promise with fans. She will greet [fans] soon with good news.”

Anticipation heightened when YG Entertainment shared the following information on 21 February: “The music video for Jisoo’s solo track is being filmed entirely overseas in strict secrecy. It is worth anticipating as we invested the highest production cost of all BLACKPINK videos to date.” BLACKPINK’s music videos have always given off luxurious vibes with eye-catching sets so her music video is set to be something truly spectacular.

After the announcement was made, one of Jisoo’s team shared the following photo and tagged the location as Los Angeles, California.

Naturally, Blinks used their detective skills to track down the location.

This has now led to speculation that the music video was shot on the set of ‘New York’ Street’, at Universal Studios in LA.

Jisoo had also previously spoke to Rolling Stone on the subject in May 2022, she said, "I’m not sure how much I want to go solo yet. The music I listen to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do — what should I choose?

"I love songs with lots of instruments. I love different bands and rock music. What do people want from me? There’s a chaos of conflicting questions. So I’m still tilting my head in confusion. I’m not sure what will happen with my solo plans this year."
