BLACKPINK’s Lisa Earns 3 New Guinness World Record Titles

Besides being the ‘maknae’ (or youngest member) of arguably the hottest girl group on the planet BLACKPINK, Lisa has paved her own dazzling solo career –– earning accolades left and right and by being the ambassador of luxury fashion houses Celine and Bvlgari.

Back in 2021, she was the third BLACKPINK member to release solo music content with her single ‘Lalisa’ and it was the most-viewed YouTube music video by a solo artist in 24 hours, hitting 73.6 million views. It also set a record for being the Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist.

The Guinness World Records have now confirmed that the talented K-pop artist has now added three more record titles to her collection as a solo artist, making her the holder of a total of five records!

Lisa managed to scoop up this award with her solo music in 2022. Previously, since its introduction in 2019, the ‘Best K-pop Video’ category had been exclusively won only by BTS.

The Best K-pop award had also been won by BTS prior to this. BLACKPINK also made a Guinness World Record for being the first winners of the Best Metaverse Performance award with their single ‘Ready for Love’ in the video game PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds)

Most followers on Instagram for a K-pop artist

As of 26 January, the Thai-born star has 87.1M followers on the social media platform. This makes her the 38th most followed account on the platform, with Cristiano Ronaldo taking the crown. She has been the most followed K-pop idol on Instagram since 2019.

As a group, BLACKPINK also holds a total of nine Guinness World Records titles including being the most subscribers for a band on YouTube, the first K-pop group to reach No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart (Female), and the first K-pop group to reach No. 1 on the U.S. Albums Chart (Female).

While we sadly didn’t manage to bag any tickets for BLACKPINK’s upcoming sold-out Malaysian concert to see them in person, we can’t wait to see the group and Lisa smash more records!
