Carrie Fisher's Mother, Debbie Reynolds, Passes Away A Day After Her Daughter's Death
"She wanted to be with Carrie."
That was what Todd Fisher told Variety magazine about the shocking passing of her mother, Debbie Reynolds, a day after the death of his sister and Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher.Both Todd and Debbie were in the former's home planning Carrie's funeral when suddenly, the Hollywood veteran, who was under a lot of stress following Carrie's fatal heart attack, suffered a possible stroke and was rushed to the hospital. She took her last breath a few hours later. She was 84.
Before the unfortunate incident, Debbie posted a Facebook comment expressing gratitude to the fans of her daughter, Carrie: "Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop."
Debbie is mostly known for her role in the 1952 musical Singin' in the Rain alongside Gene Kelly. Here's a scene from the movie:
