Godzilla soon has to face a sword-wielding, kungfu-fighting Chinese hottie in his brand new film.

Famed Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has reportedly signed on to star in the upcoming Godzilla movie titled Godzilla: King Of The Monsters.

According to US entertainment website The Hollywood Reporter, the 38-year-old's character in the movie will reportedly be a major one, probably spanning across several Godzilla films.

Movie studios Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have remained tight-lipped on Zhang's role, but she will apparently play a member of Monarch, a “covert, creature-cataloging” organisation that reportedly links together the films in the 'MonsterVerse', according to the website.

So yeah, you probably won't see her doing this in the film:

Godzilla: King Of The Monsters will reportedly take place a couple of years after the events of the last (boring) Godzilla film, after the giant lizard's epic battle with a giant praying mantis.

The film will also reportedly star The Conjuring actress Vera Farmiga, Stranger Things starlet Millie Bobby Brown and of course, the token Japanese guy Ken Watanabe.

Krampus director Michael Dougherty will be helming the project, and the movie is slated for a March 2019 release.

Zhang first shot to fame after she starred alongside Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh and Hong Kong A-lister Chow Yun-Fatt in the highly-acclaimed film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Her role in 2005's Memoirs Of A Geisha won her 12 different Best Actress awards, making her the most awarded Chinese actress for a single film.

Godzilla, you better watch out!
