Award-winning singer-songwriter and pop icon Michael Bolton has travelled all the way from the United States to Asia to search for the best singers in the region for his brand new reality show, Bolt of Talent.

Thousands of hopefuls had auditioned over the past few months and the producers have finally narrowed them down to eight talents from Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and of course, Malaysia.

Because Malaysia Boleh!

The eight contestants from all around Asia.
During this seven-week journey, the contestants will be coached, mentored and judged by Bolton himself while also facing difficult musical challenges.

Out of the eight contestants, Bolton will personally hand-pick four finalists who will have to reinvent, rearrange and reproduce a range of his greatest hits.

Bolton has a soft spot for Asia, a place he has performed at for more than 25 years.
At the end of it all, the one who impressed Bolton and the audience will be crowned winner and take home a dream record deal as well as perform in a full-on world tour with the legend himself!

Among the contestants are Malaysians Greg Ramanado and Cassandra Anne.

Being the oldest contestant in the competition, Ramanado hopes to win before it’s too late. Cassandra Anne, on the other hand, is a young high school student who has a soulful voice that leaves the audience wanting more.

Other singer-songwriters contending in the show include Holly Lou Wei-Chern (Taiwan), Lance Busa (Philippines), Hans Dimayuga (Philippines), Dena Tsui Fang Chang (Taiwan), Mild Nawinda Sittatikarnvech (Thailand), and Paige Jutarat Mangkalarangsee (Thailand).

The gifted individuals will also get a bit of help from the co-hosts, The Sam Willows’ Sandra Riley Tang from Singapore, Morisette Amon from the Philippines and Lydia Sarunrat Deane from Thailand.

So who will shine through and prove their Bolt of Talent?

Catch the seven-part series and travel across four major Asian cities this 16 August at 9.30pm, exclusively on Star World (Astro CH 711 & 722).
