A 'Crazy Rich Asians' Sequel Is (Almost) Officially Happening!
It's official -- a Crazy Rich Asians sequel is in the works!
Barely one week since its release in the United States, and less than 24 hours since it came out in cinemas in this side of the world, the Jon M. Chu film has proven to be a great success.
Besides earning back its USD30mil (RM123mil) production budget with an insane USD35mil (RM143mil) box office opening within the first five days of release, the film also managed to attract a 93 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and great reviews by word-of-mouth.

Director Chu and the creative team will also return to work on the next film, based on Kevin Kwan's second book in the series, China Rich Girlfriend.
Although Warner Bros. hasn't exactly given the official green light for a sequel, the studios is reportedly "moving forward on development".

"We have a plan with Kevin for the next two films," producer Brad Simpson said.
There is also a plan to give the sequel another golden touch by the same screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim, but nothing is set in stone yet.

But without giving away too much, you can already smell a sequel coming towards the final minutes, giving the audience a teaser of the next installment.

They have also expressed high interests and anticipations to reunite in the Crazy Rich Asians family.
"I hope there’s something in the future,” Golding said. "It would be so much fun to get everybody back together, back to sweaty old Singapore."
