Disney Confirms Mulan Live-Action Remake
Disney fans, you’re in for a big treat, because everyone's favourite childhood movie is coming to life! Again. If you’re a fan of the 1998 animated Disney movie, Mulan, Walt Disney Studios has just confirmed that they are making a live-action remake of it. The movie is set to premiere in 3D format on November 2nd, 2018 according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The announcement comes after a string of successful live-action movies by Disney such as Maleficent, The Jungle Book, Cinderella, and the long anticipated Beauty and the Beast scheduled to premiere in March 2017.Everything You Need To Know About the Just-Confirmed Live-Action #Mulan: https://t.co/m0PQ8svILI pic.twitter.com/rX4HCqzqr1— Disney (@Disney) October 4, 2016
Disney has yet to announce the director of the movie but they are in the midst of launching a global casting search for a Chinese actress to play Mulan in this live-action remake. Kudos to Disney for sticking to the character’s real roots by not practicing Hollywood whitewashing. (Yes, we’re looking at you Scarlett Jo).
After the news broke, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement over the live-action remake. Some even suggested who should be casted as Mulan.

As the countdown to the live-remake begins, we ponder over some exciting questions that may arise during the production of the movie. Will they sing like in the animated movie? Will Christina Aguilera record a new tune for the remake? And most importantly, how will Wushu look and sound like? We hope the movie will be as badass as the animated version.Oh shoot... dream cast: @ConstanceWu as Mulan and @Yoshistunts as Shang. Leggoooo.
