Fan Sets Record For Watching The Experts in Cinemas 9 Times in 4 Days!

A heist action film regarded as on par with foreign works, The Experts continues to be the top choice of cinema audiences nationwide and is currently at number one on the GSC Top 10 chart. What’s more surprising is that a member of the audience and a fan of local films, Chee Chi Wai, 55, has seen The Experts 9 times in cinemas over 4 days.

Chee Chi Wai, who works as a plan painter in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, admits that he has watched the movie The Experts nine times. “I am pleased with the quality and the interesting storyline featured in the latest film produced by Astro Shaw. This movie is good, the storyline is interesting, not cliche, and the editing is beautiful."

"I believe the technology used to produce this film is comparable to international films. I usually go straight to the cinema to watch a movie, and on weekends, I spend time in the morning and at night watching the same movie. I aim to watch it 24 times like I did for the movie Sheriff. However, the system is not currently open for the purchase of tickets next week. Of course, I will support our local films."

This is in line with the rise of local films dominating the country's cinemas, starting with the film Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan in 2022, Polis Evo 3 (2023) and just last month, the film Sheriff was screened and has since garnered an incredible collection of RM62 million. The momentum is continued by the movie The Experts, which recorded a collection of RM1 million in the initial screening on May 21. This proves that the audience has regained faith in Malaysian films.

The movie was produced by Astro Shaw in association with ZAK Capital and TGV Pictures and is currently in 172 cinemas nationwide, including Singapore and Brunei.

‘The Experts’ is directed by Andre Chiew alongside Nazim Shah and features strong performances by great local actors, such as Dato Aaron Aziz, Syafiq Kyle, Mimi Lana, Remy Ishak, Ray Dapdap, Maya Karin, Tony Eusoff, Wan Hanafi Su, Jay Iswazir, Douglas Lim, and Michael Ang.

'The Experts' follows a family of five siblings who, after a decade of hard-earned peace, are ruthlessly dragged back to their treacherous past. A notorious gangster blackmails them into a heart-pounding heist where old grudges ignite, and a shocking family tragedy resurfaces. As the shadows of their criminal history engulf them, loyalties fray, and their survival hangs in the balance. Will they outsmart their ruthless enemy and protect the family, or will this desperate job tear them apart forever?
