Since the announcement of the ninth installment of the popular Fast and Furious franchise, fans have been eagerly counting down to the release.

However, on Wednesday, the official Fast and Furious Twitter account posted a new release date and it’s not exactly good news.

Fast and Furious 9 has been pushed back one year from its original release date, 19 April 2019.

Why so long?
Universal Pictures did not reveal the reason for postponing Fast and Furious 9, but they did move up the release of Trolls 2 by two months from 10 April 2020 to 14 February 2020 to facilitate the new change.

Earlier this year, The Fate of the Furious earned a total of USD1.2billion at the worldwide box office. And all eight films in the franchise have collectively grossed more than USD5billion globally.

'Furious 7' starring the late Paul Walker was the best performing one which earned USD1.5billion worldwide.
So guys, guess we’ll have to wait another year for more of ‘em fast cars so let’s hope it will be a good one!
