Get Ready For A 90s Throwback, Because ‘Rugrats’ Is Coming Back
If you grew watching the adventures and five mischievous babies – Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, Phil and Lil DeVille, and Angelica Pickles - we’re about to take a nostalgic stroll down memory lane.
28 years after they first debuted on our TV screens via Nickelodeon, the gang is back once again on the small screen.
Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have announced a relaunch of the iconic TV series with a 26-episode run and a live-action film featuring CGI characters.
“Kids who grew up with Tommy Pickles and the Rugrats crew will now be able to share that experience with their own children,” President of Paramount Players Brian Robbins said in a statement.
The new series will feature the same characters at the same age when the first show debuted, and will also introduce a few new characters. No word yet on when the new 'Rugrats ' cartoon will drop.
As for the movie titled 'Rugrats', it is slated for release on 13 November 2020.
Interestingly, 'Rugrats' isn’t the only show that is getting a breath of fresh (and modern) air – 'Blue’s Clues' has received the green light too.
If you remember classic shows such as 'Rocko’s Modern Life' and 'Invader Zim', both titles are reportedly receiving their own specials too.
We miss the old Nickelodeon, and we’re really happy to see that they’re bringing back the old shows! Our only plea to the channel is to please bring back 'Kenan and Kel' and 'All That'!
