Get Ready For More Zombies, ‘Train To Busan’ Is Getting Its Sequel Soon
If you’re a fan of Korean movies and soap operas, it’d be almost impossible to say that you have not watched the wildly popular zombie movie 'Train to Busan'.
The movie went on to become a blockbuster hit not only in South Korea but also all over the world, including us K-pop and K-drama lovers in Malaysia.
Heck, even the Mat Sallehs are already looking at adapting it into a Hollywood movie.
Well, we’ve got some great news for you if you're wondering if there will ever be a second installment of the movie.
'Train to Busan'’s director Yeon Sang Ho has confirmed that they are already working on a sequel and filming is scheduled to begin in 2019.
The sequel is titled 'Bando', which means Peninsula, for now.
The next installment will have a similar plot to the first movie, but will now include a zombie virus outbreak that has spread throughout the Korean peninsula.
“It is an extension of 'Train to Busan', after the virus has spread throughout Korea, but the characters are not the same.
"It shares the same world view and is a zombie action film that deals with the aftermath on the peninsula of what happened in 'Train to Busan',” the director told Screen Daily.
We know all of you must be looking forward to seeing 'Train to Busan 2', but this crucial detail will make you feel slightly (if not, very) disappointed: Yeon Sang Ho does not plan to bring back any of the original cast members from the first movie.
So, this would mean that Gong Yoo won’t be reprising his role in the movie.
Noooooo! Guess we’ll have to wait to find out who they will be casting.
