Remember the whole hoo-ha surrounding the live-action adaptation of ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ when the trailer was first released in May 2019?

Childhoods were ruined, fans were upset, and Paramount Pictures finally took note of it and quickly fixed the mess which ultimately helped the film to become the “highest-grossing videogame movie ever at the domestic box office.”

And it looks like fans will be collecting more golden rings soon as the studio has finally announced that a sequel has been confirmed.

Round two for Sonic

According to Entertainment Weekly, ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2’ has been given the green light and Jeff Fowler will return to the director’s chair.

He's super sonic!
The first film made US$300 million (RM1.28 billion) at the worldwide box office, which illustrates how important it is to listen to your fans and doing everything you can to make it work.

However, there's no word yet on whether original cast members such as Ben Schwartz and James Marsden will return to the franchise.

Although a date has yet to be confirmed for the sequel’s theatrical release, many are speculating that the film may be released in 2023.

Well, we hope that the studio will take as much time as possible to make the best-looking ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ film.
