The God Of Mischief Is Back! Here Are Five Things You Can Look Forward To In ‘Loki’
June seems like a good month for Disney+ Hotstar fans in Malaysia as not only do we finally get our hands on the streaming platform, we’re also blessed with new original series and films.
And one of it is definitely something the Marvel Cinematic Fans (MCU) have been waiting for so long – ‘Loki’.
We recently sat down with the cast of the show to find out more about the God of Mischief’s standalone series and here are five things you should know about it.
#1 Being mischievous landed him a new show
The series is set after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ where Loki was able to escape with the Tesseract into an alternate timeline. He thinks he’s able to tamper with the timelines and create chaos but his ambitions came to an abrupt end after running into the Time Variance Authority (TVA). The rest is history.#2 Influenced by pop culture
Although Loki originated from the comic books, for the series, the writers looked to several films in pop culture for inspiration such as ‘Se7en’, ‘The Zodiac’, and ‘Silence of the Lambs’ to create the storyline.#3 Another Avenger will be in the series
We don’t want to spoil this for you but since ‘Loki’ was an outcome of one of the events in ‘Endgame’, you can take a wild guess at who will be making a brief appearance in the first episode.#4 Time Variance who?
Comic book fans would probably be familiar with who the Time Variance Authority (TVA) is but for others, it may be unheard of. The TVA is an organisation that oversees a number of realities in the ever growing multiverse. Owen Wilson plays an agent for TVA who handles investigations on dangerous time criminals. Gugu Mbatha-Raw plays a respected judge in the organisation while Wunmi Mosaku is a high-ranking Hunter.#5 Loki is actually…
To MCU fans, if you ask what Loki is, he’s obviously a man. But for comic book fans, he’s not. The series confirms that Loki is classified as gender fluid in his file. The show’s director, Kate Herron says "He's gender fluid in the Norse mythology and the comics and it felt like an important thing to, as you say, make sure it's canon." Wait no more fans, as you can start streaming the series to find out more about TVA, who’s this mysterious Avenger making an appearance and what kind of trouble has Loki landed himself in.POV: You've just arrived at the TVA ?
