From Gotham To The Seas: Margot Robbie Set To Star In The New ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’
Not too long ago, rumours were floating that ‘Avengers’ star Karen Gillan may be headlining the next ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ (POTC).
Some fans were excited with the prospect; some felt ‘POTC’ should just end.
Well, we can speculate no more as Entertainment Weekly has revealed that ‘Suicide Squad’ star Margot Robbie is set to sail into the high seas in the ‘POTC’ reboot.
Mini reunion of sorts
Christina Hodson, who was responsible for writing ‘Birds of Prey’, will serve as the screenwriter for the new female-fronted pirate film.
The next ‘POTC’, however, will not be a spin-off of the original but a “separate original story with new characters”.
The female-led of ‘POTC’ is currently in development and is also a separate project from another ‘POTC’ reboot that will be written by ‘Chernobyl’ creator Craig Mazin.
No word yet on who else will be starring alongside Robbie, but who knows, Karen Gillan may end up getting casted as well.
We’re already imagining how badass the Australian actress will be when she commands the ship and her crew as she navigates through uncharted waters so this version of ‘POTC’ is definitely a big yes for us.
