GUESS WHO'S BACK: Rosyam Nor Returns as JACK YUSOF, An Astro Originals Series
Remember Datuk Rosyam Nor, famous for his roles in KL Gangster 2, KL Menjerit, Gila-Gila Remaja and Castello? The award-winning actor is back with a fresh new role that will leave fans wanting more after a 10-year hiatus.
Datuk Rosyam Nor takes on the role of an obnoxious, self-centred A-lister in JACK YUSOF, a family comedy series directed by Wan Hasliza Wan Zainuddin, who’s no stranger to productions centred around family themes.
Jack Yusof is a legendary actor who’s accomplished many feats in his film career. Despite leading a lavish life and being adored by many, Jack has made numerous mistakes in his personal life, including abandoning his daughter Aida when she was just a baby. Many years later, Aida reappears unexpectedly, bringing with her a very special request that shakes up Jack's life.
When asked about his role in the series, Datuk Rosyam Nor admits he’s been wanting to feature on an Astro Originals series for quite some time. ‘Astro Originals produced a number of fresh productions and for me, I’m always eager to work on unique scripts. I’m also a fan of Wan Hasliza’s work and when I watched I-Tanggang, I was wondering if she’d ever have me in any of her productions.’
Rosyam Nor’s triumphant return to the screen is also accompanied by other heavy lifters, including the likes of Raja Ema and Rashidi Ishak, who took on the roles of his daughter’s caretakers and parents. Who would’ve thought the trio would be hilarious on screen as the audience in the launch screening was laugh cackling until the end of the episode.
The series also boasts a stellar cast including Sharifah Husna, Hafiz Halim, Fadlan Hazim, Adriana Adnan, Loganathan Kanabathy, Syed Muhammad Baqir, Uncle Samsuri, and features special appearances by Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim, Raja Azura, Zain Hamid, Angeline Tan, Zarina Anjoulie, Steve Yap, Taufik Hanafi, Dian Fernandez, Maca (Marsya), Haidar Hasanuddin, and Amy Nur Tinie.
Viewers can enjoy the 8-episode series through On Demand and Astro GO starting from June 17, with new episodes released every Saturday at midnight. Additionally, it will be available on Astro RIA channel 104 starting from June 26, airing every Monday at 9:00 PM.
