Henry Golding Is The Male Lead In The Movie 'Crazy Rich Asians'
The thespian with Iban heritage will play the lead role as Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians.
This will be the first movie role for Henry Golding, a fully trained hair stylist and travel show presenter. His list of accolades include works with international titles like ESPN, National Geographic, Fox, and NBC Universal.According to an exclusive by The Hollywood Reporter, Golding will star alongside Fresh Off The Boat's Constance Wu and will play her love interest.
The story follows Rachel Chu (Wu), an American-born Chinese economics professor, who travels to her boyfriend Nick's (Golding) hometown of Singapore for his best friend's wedding. Before long, his secret is out: Nick is from a family that is impossibly wealthy, he's perhaps the most eligible bachelor in Asia, and every single woman in his ultra-rarefied social class is incredibly jealous of Rachel and wants to bring her down.
Malaysian pride Michelle Yeoh is also attached to play Nick's mother who disapproves of Rachel. The film is based on the book of the same name by Kevin Kwan and director Jon M Chu of Now You See Me 2 will helm the Warner Brothers production.
