It has been a few weeks since ‘Avengers: Endgame’ premiered and we’re pretty sure that most of you out there have watched the movie (if not once, perhaps twice or thrice).

Following the ending of Marvel’s greatest cinematic saga, many fans had a lot of questions on their mind, which spurred all sorts of theories on the future of our heroes.

One of it would be Captain America, especially after he handed his shield to Sam Wilson a.k.a Falcon.

Who do you prefer to be Captain America? Bucky or Falcon?
A lot of fans (including us) were left wondering why Steve Rogers did not give his shield to his long-time pal Bucky Barnes, considering the history and relationship they have.

Well, wonder no more because ‘Avengers: Endgame’ directors Joe and Anthony Russo have shed some light on this topic.

During an interview for Happy Sad Confused’s podcast, they said that “it made sense that it was Sam” and not Bucky.

The duo responsible bringing 'Avengers' to life.
“I don’t think that there were significant debates at all. Bucky is portrayed in the films as very damaged, and not necessarily the guy you’d want to trust with another weapon, because he can always be corrupted.”

If you guys remember, Bucky was severely brained-washed by Hydra and was trained to become a weapon of mass destruction.

The Russo brothers added that Sam matches Captain America’s integrity throughout the films.

Falcon and Bucky will be starring in their own show on Disney+ soon.
“From the time that they met on the Mall in D.C. through the end of this film, he just seemed like the logical choice in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

“We don’t have all the context that the comics have. We can only bring completion to the stories that we’ve been telling, and that seemed to make the most sense.”

In another interview with Sirius XM, Anthony says that “the real attraction between Cap and Bucky is that their relationship — they started more as opposites, and that’s how they complemented each other. Whereas I feel like Sam and Cap are more kindred spirits.”

So, there you have it, folks. Looks like Falcon will be wearing Cap’s suit and shield in the future. Who knows in the future there might be a new ‘Captain America’ movies starring Sam Wilson.
