When it was announced that 'Twilight' actor Robert Pattinson will be playing Batman in 'The Batman', responses weren't exactly great.

Fans were questioning if Pattinson, who played a sparkly vampire in the 'Twilight' movies, have the chops to pull off playing one of the most beloved superheroes in history.

Well, we kind of have an answer to that question.

The Batman has arrived

Over the weekend, Warner Bros shared the first teaser trailer for the upcoming 'The Batman' movie.

The two-minute trailer, which was unveiled during the DC Fandome virtual convention for its superhero brand DC Entertainment, shows a dark and gritty Gotham City unlike the one we saw in Cristopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' trilogy.

Most importantly, the trailer showed an angry and even grittier Pattinson as the Dark Knight.

Take a look at the trailer:

Judging by the response on the trailer -- 11 million views and counting in just two days -- fans of the superhero seem to love what the 34-year-old brought to the table as Batman:
We also get to see the revamped Batmobile (which looks sick, by the way) and a couple of shots of Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman in the trailer.

'The Batman' is set to hit cinemas in October 2021, but we seriously can't wait for the movie to come out.
