When we last see the Straw Hats, Luffy receives news that he has the highest bounty on his head out of anyone in the East Blue. In the final moments of Season 1, we saw a mysterious figure with white hair, brown gloves, and two cigars in hand burning Luffy’s wanted poster. Something tells us there’s even more danger ahead. “It’ll still take a while to get the scripts ready, so please be patient,” Oda continued in his video message. “From here on, it seems to me the Straw Hats will need a great doctor … We will see!”

What will happen in One Piece Season 2?

Co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer Matt Owens previously revealed that Dr Kureha, the elderly doctor who works on Drum Island and is sometimes referred to as a “witch” will definitely be part of Season 2.
“When the Season 2 writers’ room got together, we knew how far we were going to get and that this character Dr. Kureha was going to be a big part of the season.”
Owens is also eager to introduce viewers to some other fan favourites next season, especially since “Oda told everyone we’ll be meeting Chopper in Season 2.” The Straw Hats are also going to be in the Grand Line — “The place that we were talking about all of Season 1, we’re in it now,” said Owens.
