The COVID-19 pandemic may have stopped us from moving around, but it certainly can't stop our talents from winning awards.

A Malaysian actress has made the country proud by winning an international acting award.

Big win for the actress

The role that nabbed her the award.
The Star Online reported that actress Amanda Ang won the bronze award in the Best Performance By An Actress category at the 2020 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.

Amanda picked up the award for her role in Singaporean series 'Last Madame'.

She plays Sor Fan, a confidante to the protagonist in the 12-episode drama starring Singaporean actress Joanne Peh as the owner of a brothel.

Double trouble.
Prior to this, Amanda appeared in a 2018 Malaysian web series titled 'Cupid Co.', and it's safe to say that her win at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards would propel her to stardom.

The list of winners were released on the film festival's website on Wednesday (22 April), but due to the whole pandemic situation, the award ceremony will most likely take place some time next year, the organisers said.

Congratulations on your win, Amanda! We are extremely proud of you!
