The Coronavirus has got everyone around the globe restless with the death toll and number of people infected rising by day.

In light of the outbreak, a lot of celebrities are trying their best to help raise awareness about the virus or donate their money to relevant bodies.

For one martial art star, he’s also helping to fight the cause with a really drastic offer.

Reward for the antidote

According to The Straits Times, Jackie Chan has offered a whopping one million yuan (RM591,226.27) to anyone who can develop an antidote for the Coronavirus.

Jackie Chan to Coronavirus:
The Hong Kong actor shared the news via his Weibo account recently and said that he hoped to do what he could during the outbreak besides just offering songs and cheer to the people who were affected by the deadly virus.

"Science and technology is key to overcoming the virus, and I believe many people have the same thought as me and hope that an antidote can be developed as soon as possible," the 65-year-old wrote.

"I have a 'naive' idea now. No matter which individual or organisation develops the antidote, I want to thank them with 1 million yuan."

The ‘Rush Hour’ star added that this isn’t about the money and he doesn’t want to see the once-crowded streets now empty because a lot of people are fighting the virus until they’re dead when they should actually be enjoying life.

Netizens praised and supported his idea and even suggested that Chan raised the reward amount to 10 million yuan (RM 5,912,262.66).

What a noble man, huh? We sincerely hope sooner or later someone or some company eventually finds a cure for the deadly Coronavirus.
