‘James Bond’ Star Pierce Brosnan Says “It’s Time” A Woman Plays The Bond Role
In July, reports about ‘Captain Marvel’ star Lashana Lynch taking on the role of Agent 007 following Daniel Craig’s exit from the franchise surfaced.
The news didn’t sit well with many people, especially hardcore fans because the role has traditionally been given to white men.
But for one former James Bond, he actually thinks it’s not a bad idea at all to cast a female lead.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pierce Brosnan says that there is no better time to pass the legendary role to a woman.
“I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years. Get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting,” the four-time Agent 007 told the publication.

But will it happen anytime soon? The actor doubts so, especially if producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are still producing the franchise.
Broccoli previously said in an interview with The Guardian that “Bond is male. He’s a male character. He was written as a male and I think he’ll probably stay as a male. And that’s fine. We don’t have to turn male characters into women.”
“Let’s just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters.”
So, Bond fans, what do you think? Is it time for a woman to step up to the role, or change is something the franchise doesn’t need right now?
