Taiwan’s King of Mandopop Jay Chou is a multi-talented celebrity and cares about the less fortunate.

He recently proved this by auctioning off four of his performance costumes and successfully raising HK$3.31 million (RM1.77 million) for charity.

Malay Mail, quoting a report from Focus Taiwan, said that the funds raised would be channelled to Make-A-Wish International.

Onstage outfits a hit

The report said among the outfits that were auctioned off at the Sotheby’s “Contemporary Curated: Asia” auction include a studded leather jacket that the star wore onstage during his 2016-2018 “The Invincible” world tour.

The auction series, which is curated by Chou, also features works by blue-chip artists and rising stars handpicked by Chou himself.

“I’m very happy and honoured to become the curator and to be able to narrow the distance between the public and art,” he was quoted as saying.

It’s so nice to see celebrities doing what they can to give back.
