As Aulia mourns for the loss of Ocean, Danish turned out to be a good friend in such times of grief. The bond between them grows but Aulia’s father’s soft disapproval stands in their way. As it stands, her father is still pushing for Emir’s marriage proposal, but after Ocean’s death, who in the right mind would still be okay with Emir?
This episode truly explores the pair’s passion for poetry, which may not be the freshest of plot devices used in such romcom flicks. However, the manner of using poetry to slowly and cautiously explore their inner feelings and let their curiosities unravel made our hearts tingle a bit. The slam poetry scene, set in Merdekarya (great choice of location), introduces not just Danish to Malaysia’s expressive poetry scene, but also to audiences who may have not heard of such events ever.
But the biggest highlights of Episode 5 comes in waves - as in literally, because the two families went for a much needed getaway in Port Dickson. Yes, as luxurious as Port Dickson can be (in some parts at least), it may not be the most romantic place for anything to happen, am I right? Wrong, because Aulia-Danish’s enemies-to-lovers arc concluded in the most climatic of ways: by the beach with written poetry straight from the heart.
Another unique part of the episode is Aulia’s struggle in adapting to Danish’s influencer life; which is a side of that industry barely spoken about. However, her love for Danish encouraged to face her adversities regardless - and prove to everyone that she can adapt.
Personally, we feel that the enemies-to-lovers arc could’ve gone a tad bit longer. Thankfully the current execution is decent enough before entering the drama in Episode 6, brought to you by Hannisya’s eagerness in ruining Aulia-Danish’s new love tale.
