After episode 5 concluded on a high, the creators chose chaos for almost the entirety of episode 6. Shieyruna’s million-viewed Wattpad novel adaptation returns yet again for another drama-fueled, tea-spilling episode as the season is approaching its conclusion. This time, we witnessed Aulia and Danish’s first fight as a couple (aww).

SPOILER ALERT

Picked up where episode 5 left off at Hannisya’s party, the mean queen improvised her diabolical plan by recruiting an unlikely ally; Ashraf. A friend of Danish, Ashraf was seduced by Hannisya’s good looks and allure, which led the pair into a surprise and very sus romantic relationship.

As part of Hannisya’s plan, Luqman was tasked to push Danish’s buttons and forced a reaction out of him. Luqman fuelled Danish’s anger by hurling insults as the character, played brilliantly by Fimie Don, challenged Danish for a game of football. The winner? Takes Aulia home - which is seriously disgusting by the way, guys. Men should do better because women are not objects or trophies.

But understandably for Danish, something else was brewing at home. His mother plans to remarry Danish’s abusive father, which had him confused and conflicted. Imagine being a 16-year-old boy, already providing for his family after his father’s departure, now forced to move back in with him. Since he’s only at that age, we’d excuse his immaturity, especially when his mother encouraged him to ‘fight for the ones he loves in the most terrible of contexts.

This episode highlights the different layers of Danish’s characters, no longer just the famous influencer with a pretty face. Danish showed an angry and frustrated side of him that was absent during the first couple of episodes. The weight on the shoulders of a boy responsible for the food on the table while suffering from generational trauma.

At the same time, the episode brings light to how teenagers deal with their parents’ expectations. Danish was asked to just accept his father back after years of living in terror while Aulia’s father’s disapproval of Danish reached a penultimate point as Aulia screams ‘I’m sorry I’m not good enough for you’ after her father berated her for befriending Danish. The remark left her father confused and hurt. Hopefully, he’ll finally realise marrying Aulia off with someone way older is wrong. Let’s see.

Episode 6 is now up on Sooka. Check it out right here.
