If you’re in tune with the local Malaysian music scene, you’d probably have heard of No Good - an energetic punk trio carrying the Kelantanese flag with pride. Consists of members from the now-defunct Killeur Calculateur and Dirgahayu, No Good took the indie scene by storm with their boot-stomping, head-banging tracks from their previous releases.

After successful tour stops in Malacca and Negeri Sembilan, No Good made a surprise announcement of a Kuala Lumpur leg, less than 24 hours before the actual show. The band hosted the show at Vans’ latest skate installation in front of Starhill Bukit Bintang.

No Good is also part of Vans Malaysia’s Classic Since Forever campaign promoting the Vans Classic shoes alongside other groundbreaking Malaysian artists including Sugee Wee and Nadirah Zakariya.

The show announcement came not long after the cancellation of their Cherating stop in Pahang due to protests by surrounding locals in the area. Fans were gutted as the cancellation caused an uproar in Pahang, with many music fans yearning for a dose of Kelantanese punk rock on the shores of Cherating.
Hence the KL leg was a sweet surprise for fans as No Good serenaded fans with classics such as Che Using alongside newer hits including Kelantanese-Thai-inspired love song, ‘Suay’. Fans mainly were blown away as they got to watch No Good perform ‘D’Kolupo’ at the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
In regards to the show being held at Vans' installation grounds, we reached out to the brand's representative, Mira Sutan for a clearer picture. 'It (the show) was not a part of the initial plan. Due to No Good's cancelled show for their tour, we feel the need to support them in a way that we could, after a thorough discussion with other partners as well.'

'No Good reached out to us with the idea and that’s what happened last night. The effort is all on No Good and the crew & community.'

The surprise concert couldn’t come at a better time as Malaysians enjoyed a streak of good concerts since Thursday with Billie Eilish at the National Stadium, Kunto Aji at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall on Friday and Diskoria Live in KL on Saturday.
