The Lightning Thief Is Back: ‘Percy Jackson’ Is Getting A TV Series Adaptation On Disney+
A decade ago, one of the most awesome Greek mythology films was released – ‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief’, which was adapted from the critically-acclaimed novel of the same name by Rick Riordan.
The film even had a sequel three years later, but that was the last time we ever heard from Percy and his demigod buddies.
Well, it seems that our wish to see the Lightning Thief on screen once again has come true after it was announced that the book would be adapted into a TV series on Disney+.
Coming really soon
The book’s author broke the news via his Twitter account on Thursday (14 May):

"Hey Percy Jackson fans, for the past decade, you've worked hard to champion a faithful on-screen adaptation of Percy Jackson's world. Some of you have even suggested it would be a good series for Disney+. We couldn't agree more!" he said.
The live-action series will follow closely to the original storyline of the book and the first season will be based on ‘The Lightning Thief’.
There are a total of five books in the 'Percy Jackson' universe - 'Sea of Monsters', 'The Titan's Curse', 'The Battle of the Labyrinth', 'The Last Olympian', and 'The Lightning Thief'.
Logan Lerman, who played the titular character, was also excited to hear the news of the small screen adaptation.

Let’s hope Disney will do justice to the TV adaptation.
But one thing’s for sure, all of us are secretly hoping that Logan Lerman would somehow return in this series.
