Determined to fly the Jalur Gemilang at the Everest Base Camp, local actor Azhan Rani has joined an expedition to Nepal with 26 others.

According to a report by The New Straits Times, the 16-day expedition was held in conjunction with the 62nd National Day celebration that will lead up to Malaysia Day.

Rani, who played Ustaz Hamadi in the uber popular local TV series 'Nur', announced the news via a post on his Instagram account:

Quoting the expedition’s leader, Mohd Fakhrul Munir Mohd Isa from Summit Attack Resources, the climbers are set to face severe weather, below-freezing temperatures and the Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS) in their mission to fly a 6m-by-2m flag weighing 11kg.
