Local Heist Film ‘The Experts’ Dominates Box Office, Rakes in RM5 Million in Just Four Days
In recent months, there appears to have been a rise in the interest and appreciation for local movies and this was demonstrated in how local blockbuster Sheriff: Narko Integriti raked in over RM62 million in the box office.
In a similar vein, local action heist film 'The Experts' has hit the ground running and has collected RM5 million after just four days of official screening. After initial screening on May 21, The Experts managed to record a collection of RM1 million.
Meanwhile, the film is currently first on GSC's Top 10 Chart, fending away global blockbusters such as The Garfield Movie, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes.
Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, who is the Executive Producer and Head of Astro Shaw, expressed her gratitude to the Malaysian audience who have consistently supported The Experts. She stated, "We have noticed that the audience has started rewatching this action-packed heist film, including local film enthusiast Chee Chi Wai, who has seen ‘The Experts’ nine times in theaters since its release."
"With the school holidays underway, we recommend that everyone watch it together with adult guidance, as the film not only provides entertainment but also conveys valuable life lessons."
The movie was produced by Astro Shaw in association with ZAK Capital and TGV Pictures and is currently in 172 cinemas nationwide, including Singapore and Brunei.
‘The Experts’ is directed by Andre Chiew alongside Nazim Shah and features strong performances by great local actors, such as Dato Aaron Aziz, Syafiq Kyle, Mimi Lana, Remy Ishak, Ray Dapdap, Maya Karin, Tony Eusoff, Wan Hanafi Su, Jay Iswazir, Douglas Lim, and Michael Ang.
'The Experts' follows a family of five siblings who, after a decade of hard-earned peace, are ruthlessly dragged back to their treacherous past. A notorious gangster blackmails them into a heart-pounding heist where old grudges ignite, and a shocking family tragedy resurfaces. As the shadows of their criminal history engulf them, loyalties fray, and their survival hangs in the balance. Will they outsmart their ruthless enemy and protect the family, or will this desperate job tear them apart forever?
