Local Movie 'Sangkar' Is Burning Up The Box Office

It's safe to say that 2019 has been a great year for local movies.

We've seen a slew of good quality local films topping the local box office, and if you're a movie fan, you would've had a great time.

And the latest movie to take over the local box office is none other than 'Sangkar'.

In fact, the movie has so far raked in RM7.2mil in just 10 days, Astro Shaw announced on their official Instagram account:

'Sangkar' - a movie co-produced by four leading entertainment partners in Malaysia; Primeworks Studios, Astro Shaw, Infinitus Gold, and mm2 Entertainment - tells the story of the story of two MMA fighters, Adam and Johan, who get into a fight outside the ring, resulting in Johan getting seriously injured.

Filled with guilt, Adam attempts to redeem himself by resorting to underground fights for monetary gains, which he chooses to share with Johan's family.

On the other hand, Johan faces his own struggles and continues to fight for his health for the sake of his family.

The movie boasts an all-star cast of Zul Ariffin, Remy Ishak and Mira Filzah, as well as several pro MMA fighters such as James “Sledgehammer” McSweeney, Saiful Merican and Peter Hugh Davis.

With the big names attached to the film, plus the fact that 'Sangkar' is Malaysia's first ever MMA film, it's no doubt that expectations are high for the movie.

'Sangkar' is now showing in cinemas nationwide, so if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for?
