Local Songbird Yuna Lends Her Support To The 'Blackout Tuesday' Anti-Racism Movement In The US
While some public figures use their platform to sprout nonsense (*cough* Samantha *cough*), there are those who use their voice to affect change.
In light of the "Blackout Tuesday" movement to fight racism and inequality in the USA, various international as well as local artistes have voiced out their support.
One of them is songstress Yuna. 
The 33-year-old singer recently took to her Instagram profile to show support to the ongoing #BlackLivesMatter movement.
In her post, the "Crush" singer said she grew up listening to music made by African-American artistes and composers, and she did not imagine that she would have a chance to work with some of the world's biggest artistes when she grew up.
Therefore, she doesn't hesitate when the opportunity to defend her fellow African-American artistes arises.
"It's my responsibility to come together not only to celebrate the wins, but also be there and stand together during a loss.
"Without their perseverance we wouldn't have been able to enjoy and be inspired by their art form — which connects everyone globally, even all the way to Malaysia," she wrote.
She added that she and her record label will be joining the music industry's Black Out Tuesday movement to stand in solidarity with the African-American community.
